Anselm Agwunobi

Consultant General & Upper GI Surgeon

Mr Anselm Agwunobi commenced postgraduate surgical training in the UK in 1991. He trained as a general surgeon in the Manchester region and is now a fully qualified and accredited general surgeon with interests in gastrointestinal surgery, obesity surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgery.
Mr Agwunobi was the Lead Consultant Surgeon for upper GI surgery for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust for seven years where he led the development of complex key hole removal of gullet cancer with his colleagues. He regularly performs advanced laparoscopic surgery for various gastrointestinal conditions.

A period of metabolic research at Hope Hospital Salford led to the award of Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Manchester in 2001.

Mr Agwunobi enjoys golf, skiing and spending time with family and friends in his spare times.
